Community Luncheon Roundtable (March. 23 @ noon)

Our March Community Luncheon Roundtable will be on Thursday, March 23rd from12 to 1 pm in the fellowship hall of Shepherd’s House UMC (107 N. Driver Street; corner of Main and Driver). Lunch from CORE Catering is free, and all are welcome to break bread with us.

Our presenters this month are Gudrun Palmer (Director) and Peter Baker (Assistant Director) of Durham County’s Criminal Justice Resource Center. They will share information about Durham County’s efforts to reduce the number of persons in our detention center with mental illness. Durham County CJRC and many partner agencies have been working since Summer 2015 to identify numerous opportunities to divert individuals from the jail and improve services for those who are arrested.
