The 2016 election put a lot of people on edge, but many people--especially in the South--have been feeling the effects of oppression for centuries. What can we learn from centering the lives of women of color scholar- activists when they are able to uplift stories from a more personal point of view, in the long tradition of testimony and witness?

Bringing together scholars and activists in the Triangle, this workshop explores how women activists in the US, and the South in particular, have approached political organizing. See full details here. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University.
